Last week my king/hubby surprised me with a beautiful horseback ride. Many people don’t know that I have a secret passion and lot of experience with horses. We rode this amazing trail at El Puerto de Santa María, located in the southwest of Spain. Both the town and beaches are breathtaking! We met Alvaro, our great tour guide. He had a lot of knowledge about this gorgeous area and speaks four languages to include English! I learned more about the traditional wines and foods of the area. I noticed that Alvaro and I shared similar ideas and mentality about international traveling. I had an amazing day and was so happy to learn and soak up the great vibes of this town! Even though I almost got butted off of my horse😅, I had a BLAST!
Alvaro and I talked about three key points that everything international traveler should know and understand:
1.) Cultural integration is very important. Why? Because you can learn so much (especially the language) when you dedicate yourself fully into a culture.
2.) Popular tourist areas are typically least of the real culture. Why? Because these common areas are more concerned about their profit and NOT your experience.
3.) Don’t try to do too many activities in one day. Instead; enjoy one activity and explore that area and culture.
